Tikkun Olam – Community Service Day 2015

Hebrew Academy will begin our Tikkun Olam Community Service Day by once again marching in the Veterans Day Parade in Albany. We will meet on the corner of Central Avenue and Partridge Street promptly at 10:30. If you are heading down Central towards the Capital we will be on the left hand side.
*Please note the streets will be closed at this time.

The parade ends at approximately 12:30pm, and our Tikkun Olam projects begin later in the afternoon. Each project lasts for 2 hours. The times and places are as follows:

  • 2:00pm at HACD
    Cleaning the library; working in the yard
    Unlimited slots, open to all ages, parent/guardian supervision required
  • 2:00pm at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center
    Participate in various activities with residents; enjoy music and listen to stories from veterans
    Unlimited slots, open to all ages, parent/guardian supervision required
  • 3:00pm at Del Lanes
    Bowling with Special Olympics
    Unlimited slots, open to Middle School only, parent/guardian supervision not required
  • 5:00pm at the Regional Food Bank
    Assist in the warehouse
    Limited to 10 student/parent pairs/trios, open to all ages, parent/guardian supervision required
