This week in Ivrit, the focus was mainly vocabulary associated with the holiday of Chanukah.
Some of the Parparim were given a Chanukah workbook which they are finding stimulating, interesting, and enjoyable.
Chanukah is in full swing in our classroom. Each learning center has become “all about Chanukah.” The writing center, the block center, the poetry center, and the puzzle and game center, are all filled with many activities to help the Parparim gain more understanding of the holiday. Next week, we will conduct a few experiments with varous materials, specifically oil.
This week’s parasha is called Parashat Vayeshev. In this parasha, we learned about Yosef and his brothers and Yosef’s adventures in Mitzrayim.
This week’s thought question and some of their responses:
Why did Yaakov give a coat of many colors, ketonet passim, only to Yosef?
Maybe because Yosef was the best son, trying to be a good man and did all the chores
Maybe because he was the “specialist”
Maybe because Yosef was being kind to everybody
We look forward to welcoming grandparents and special friends next Friday.
We would like to wish you a Happy Chanukah and a Shabbat Shalom.
