Parparim News- June 1-5th
The Parparim have been learning about the life cycle of chicks this past week. We are reading and writing about the stages of growth, comparing to frogs and butterflies and conducting a few experiments.
We will wrap up our life cycle unit next week then as an end of the school year trip, the class will be visiting Adirondack Animal land.
The trip is planned for Monday, June 22. We will leave school around 9:00 and return around 2:30. We will be taking a bus to and from the park. Parents are welcome to join us as chaperones (I would like at least 2), a fee of $8.00 will need to be collected for each adult attending. Please let me know if you are interested in joining us. The fee for the class admission and bus will be paid for by the school. Each child will need to bring a bagged lunch, drink and snacks for the day. I will be sending out a follow up letter the week prior to the trip.
In math we continue to learn about number bonds and relating addition and subtraction. Many of our students are adding two digit numbers and are building fluency in fact recall through math center activities.
This week will be our last week in the library. All books should be returned by Friday, June 5th.
Enjoy the rest of the week,
