A New Era of Excellence Rooted in Tradition

Nesharim Newsletter

February 27, 2015

Dear Nesharim Parents,

This week in Chumash, we discussed what the snake said to the ‘Esha’ in Gan Eden,  the Esha’s response, what happened to the Esha and Adam once they ate from Eitz Hada’at,  and lastly, what G-d asked  Adam and the Esha, and their responses.

In this week’s parasha, Parashat T’zaveh, we discussed the special garments worn by the Kohanim. Our weekly question was, “Why did G-d ask Aaron, the Kohen Ha’gadol, to place the Choshen Mishpat (the breastplate) on his heart?” The Nesharim had some great responses to this question. We also read a Midrash about some of the miracles that took place in the Mishkan.

The Month of Adar is here and we are all about Purim! The main topics we discussed were the Mitzvot of Purim and when Purim occurs. We learned Purim songs, read Purim stories, and are making our own Purim games.

Next week we will continue to focus on Purim. We will be practicing our Purim play, hear the Megillah, bake hamentashen and much more!!! The Nesharim will be performing the play on Thursday, March 5th in the morning, during our school-wide celebration of Purim.

Shabbat Shalom,

Morah Keren and Morah Chana
