A New Era of Excellence Rooted in Tradition

Nesharim Newsletter

January 16, 2015

Dear Nesharim Parents,

This week our classroom was filled with enthusiastic learners.

In Parasha, we discussed Parashat Va’era. The main topics were the return of Moshe to Mitzrayim, Moshe and Aharon meeting Pharoah, and seven of the ten plagues.

The weekly question was, “Why did Aharon, not Moshe, hit the Nile River and bring upon Mitzrayim the plague of blood?” We were able to come up with answers with the help of Rashi and Rashbam and the Nesharim’s thoughts as well.

In Chumash, we focused on four questions:

  1. What did G-d do to Adam in order to “build” him a friend?
  2. What did Adam say when G-d brought him a friend?
  3. What did Adam call his friend, and why?
  4. What did Adam and his friend wear in Gan Eden?

In Tefilah, we started to learn and understand the meaning of the first bracha in Birchot Hashachar. We explained the bracha word for word and discussed why we are thanking G-d for the knowledge of a rooster.

In Chagim, Tu B’shvat can be found in all of the centers.  The centers include songs, stories, and games that the Nesharim are creating.

Shabbat Shalom,

Morah Keren and Morah Chana
