Yearbook/Directory Ad Solicitation
Welcome to the BetShragaHebrewAcademy’s Yearbook and Directory Ad Solicitation program. Soliciting ads is a great way parents help to secure our mission for their children and for those of the future. A family can solicit ads to help offset their Bonim requirement and to help raise money for the Shomray Torah Annual Fund. All funds raised over a family’s required Bonim amount ($750 for returning families and $500 for new families) are directed to the Shomray Torah Annual Fund.
New advertisers are critical to expanding our financial base as well as the scope of Bet Shraga Hebrew Academy’s public awareness. Whether it is one or two more advertisements, your efforts will be greatly appreciated.
Ad Placement
Merchant Ads – will be placed in our 2012-2013 School Directory. School Directories are continuously used by family and faculty throughout current and subsequent years, significantly increasing merchant ad exposure.
Personal Ads – will continue to appear in the Yearbook.
Solicitation of Ads for Returning Families Only:
Renewing Ads from Last Year
A list of the ads you solicited last year is included in your packet. Please renew these ads as soon as possible and no later than December 31, 2011. If the “Ad Paid” column next to a name on the enclosed list is not checked, it means that the advertiser has not yet paid for last year’s ad.
Please try your best to ask the merchant to pay the amount due. All merchants have been billed by the office. Credit can not be given on unpaid ads. If you need help, please contact the office.
All Families:
Approaching Prospective Advertisers
All new ads, and ads that do not appear on your enclosed list (returning families only), must be pre-approved by the Yearbook Committee before you solicit an ad. This is to prevent multiple families from approaching the same merchant. If you have a new advertiser to solicit, please e-mail Liz Goldstein, lgoldstein@hacdalbany.com to verify that the merchant has not already been assigned.
Obtaining a List of Advertisers to Solicit
If you do not have a list, or any prospective advertisers, (or if you wish to increase your “Bonim” contribution and need additional advertisers), please request assistance. The Committee will try to help you with a list of potential merchants.
Graduating Family Ads
Ads of families that have left Bet Shraga (e.g., graduating families) will be reassigned to families in need of contacts. Families that leave the school can not donate their ads to a specific family. Instead, their ads are treated as prospective new ads and will be redistributed.
Submitting (Green) Ad Forms and Ad Copy
- Return all ad forms to the school office in an envelope clearly marked “YEARBOOK” Incomplete, incorrect, or illegible forms will be returned to you for correction.
- If including ad copy, please do not fold, tape, staple or clip the ad copy.
- Acceptable formats for ad copy are .jpg, .eps or .tif files. We can not guarantee the quality of an ad if it is submitted as a .pdf.
- Include a camera-ready COLOR copy (FOR PERSONAL ADS ONLY) or BLACK&WHITE copy (MERCHANT ADS).
- If using last year’s ad (MERCHANT ADS ONLY) with no changes, please specify last year’s page number and Merchant name.
- Please do not submit photocopies – the print quality is insufficient.
- For patron, contributor, or “our children” listings, clearly print in the copy section of the form the name as it should appear in the listing.
- If the ad is not ready, please check the entry stating that copy will follow. It is each family’s responsibility to ensure an ad is received promptly by the Yearbook Committee and that it is identified with the family’s and advertiser’s names.
The ad form and ad copy deadlines are firm and no forms or copies will be accepted after the due date. After the deadline ads without ad copy will read “Compliments of…advertiser’s name.”
Ad Payment
We accept checks made out to HACD (place Yearbook in memo), MasterCard, Visa, Amex and Discover credit cards for payment of yearbook and school directory ads.
The deadline for forms and ads is DECEMBER 31, 2011.
