A New Era of Excellence Rooted in Tradition

Dolphinim Newsletter

February 27, 2015

Dear Dolphinim Parents,

This week in Chumash, we talked about the famine in Can’an and Ya’akov sending ten of his sons to Egypt to buy food. We discussed why only ten sons were sent.

In this week’s parasha, Parashat T’zaveh, we discussed the special clothing that the Kohanim wore. Our weekly question was, “Why did God ask Aaron to wear the Hoshen on his heart?” The Dolphinim had some great ideas to answer this. We also read answers to this question with the help of Sforno and Rashbam.

The month of Adar is here, and we are all about Purim! The main topics we discussed were:

The Mitzvot of Purim

On which day(s) we celebrate Purim

The special blessings recited before the Megilah reading

The special maftir that we read Shabbat before Purim

Parasha that we read on Purim.

Why we don’t say Hallel on Purim.

Next week our main focus will be Purim.  We will learn more songs, work on our play, hear the Megilah, bake Hamentashen and much more!!! (I won’t send a weekly letter).

Shabbat Shalom,

Morah Keren
