Continuity
Bet Shraga is dedicated to the continuity of the Jewish people, teaching the past and providing our students with a strong connection to the future and to the land and people of Israel. We strive to develop Jewish students who will accept this continuity as a personal, lifelong mission.
We support these efforts of continuity by recruiting talented teachers and staff. Our Board of Trustees ensures the school’s fiscal and spiritual integrity. We also seek, through curriculum, to continuously build on a student’s cumulative knowledge, from kindergarten through 8th grade. Students who graduate from Bet Shraga are well prepared to attend local public or private high schools. Our graduates have also been accepted in yeshiva programs outside of the Capital Region.
In high school, our alumni continue their Jewish education and involvement in a number of ways. The Hebrew Academy and several local synagogues hold evening classes for high school students. Most retain membership in synagogue youth groups and rise to leadership roles at the local, regional and national levels.
Our students have excellent academic records in high schools throughout the region. All of these schools have had Hebrew Academy alumni receive top honors and awards at graduation. Many of our graduates are members of the National Honor Society. Our students attend undergraduate and graduate programs in fine universities and colleges. Some recent universities and colleges include:
- Adelphi
- Albany
- Binghamton
- Brandeis
